“Avalokita”

Meditation Space for Cultivating Inner Peace and Compassion

A meditation space amidst the city; A lotus bloomed among confusion; A lighthouse guiding through darkness

Recognizing that Bangkok, bustling with people, lacked a meditation space that was open daily, providing a place where people could drop in, sit, and simply be with themselves, we saw the potential in creating a public meditation space in the heart of the city. Thus, we established Avalokita: Meditation Space for Cultivating Inner Peace and Compassion.

“Meditation practice is a way of making friends with ourselves.” – Chögyam Trungpa

Located in a small, minimalist 50-square-meter space, Avalokita offers a simple, serene atmosphere with a panoramic view of the city, along with access to a rooftop balcony where visitors can gaze out over the skyline. Avalokita is open daily from 5 pm to 9 pm for sitting meditation, with a daily mantra meditation session where we chant Om Mani Padme Hum, sending waves of love, compassion, and light to all sentient beings.

Avalokita Talk

Each month, we host Avalokita Talks, inviting spiritual friends to engage in Dharma conversations on topics related to peace and compassion.

Since its opening on April 4th, 2025, Avalokita has been a beacon of compassion in the heart of Bangkok, offering a space of refuge and a source of light for all who seek solace and inner connection.

The operation is sustained through a rotating group of volunteer caretakers. You can further support this space via the donation box in front of Avalokita, or kindly spread words about us.
